Holly Daniels received a BA in English Literature from California Sate University Long Beach. She returned to CSULB for graduate studies, received a Master’s Degree in Social Work, and obtained her License (#22877). She is a member of NASW, a professional organization of social workers emphasizing outstanding ethical guidelines. Some of her experience includes working for Kaiser Permanente, Department of Psychiatry, providing psychotherapy services for adults, adolescents, children, families and couples. She also worked as a mental health therapist at AIDS Services Foundation, and as a therapist in a private practice setting in southern California. Most recently, Holly worked at San Francisco General Hospital for UCSF providing clinical case management to homeless adults.

Kaiser
Holly worked for Kaiser Permanente, Department of Psychiatry in southern California for four years. There, she provided outpatient psychotherapy services for adults, adolescents, children, families and couples. She also worked as the adolescent crisis case manager, evaluating teens in high-risk situations needing inpatient care. She facilitated a psycho-educational group for teen girls ages 12-17 with an emphasis on teaching cognitive behavioral skills and on support for issues such as low self esteem, depression and anxiety, self-injurious behavior, and family conflict. She provided play therapy for young children, an evidence-based tool that is highly recommended in providing children with a communication outlet that is non-verbal in nature.

ASF
Holly worked at AIDS Services Foundation in southern California as a mental health therapist, providing psychotherapy and support to individuals newly diagnosed with HIV, those living with HIV or AIDS with co-occurring mental health diagnoses, and those isolated in their homes who were unable to seek support independently. She facilitated a children’s program for children ages 7-16 who were affected or infected by/with HIV. She provided age-appropriate HIV education as well as psychological support to the members of the program.

Private Practice
Holly provided therapy in a private practice setting in southern California. She provided
individual therapy (adults, teens, and children), family therapy and therapy for couples in this practice.

SFGH/UCSF
Holly worked at San francisco General Hospital for UCSF providing clinical case management to individuals who were over utilizing emergency medical services. She provided diverse services to her clients such as assistance with obtaining and maintaining stable housing, teaching coping skills using dialectical behavioral therapy techniques, and therapy with a focus on addressing PTSD symptoms. She facilitated a dialectical behavioral therapy group with an emphasis in teaching mindfulness techniques.
